Where To Rest My Head . . .

My mental state’s foundation is where I rest my head each night. My home is my gas station. It checks my levels and fills me up. It is where I find order and in a world with so much chaos and conflict, it is a safe haven, protecting my village from inevitable storms. Yes, storms are inevitable for everyone and the preparation from the storm truly happens at home. It’s where my budgeting and gathering goes on. It is where my kids lay. It’s where I laugh, love, play cards, watch my favorite shows and develop my estate. Home is where I build an alter and cast all my cares upon the Lord.
But when so many of us are living out of cars or in hotels, when we find comfort on family members sofas or when shelters become our desperate option, we are truly compromising our mental state. So, where do we begin securing affordable housing? Sadly, the waitlist is unethically long. The problem is so egregious that we have lots of time to prepare. Housing should only be 28% of all your earning. So, calculate how much you make to determine how much you can afford. I believe we start with making the vision plain. A vision board of your housing growth is a great tool. A measurable goal of where you will be, monitored in 3 month intervals is a push that will keep you motivated. Take pictures, journal progress and don’t be shy about posting growth and positive progress. Let people pray and help you.
Next preparing your budget/credit is essential. Even using the affordable housing options, you need to have decent credit to qualify and you need a workable budget. Get your credit report ASAP and take action line by line. Budget even if you don’t have a lot. Make sure you include transportation in budgets. Half the battle is maintaining your situation. Training is essential in financial fortitude.
Lastly, increase your seed. Look into training and second jobs. Don’t fear entrepreneurship. Have multiple streams of income. Look into network marketing and do it right. Turn a hobby into a money maker. Use a passion to elevate yourself. I am Dearest Price, taking a moment to build elevate and grow with you. If no one told you they love you, I love you but God finds you amazing.
