109 years ago, that’s when DST was made, 

109 years ago, collegiate women, no longer slaves, 
109 years ago, we marched with the suffrage, 

109 years ago, taking our place on this equality bridge, 

109 years ago, we knew scholarship was the only way, 

109 years ago, sistahood would save the day, 

109 years ago, we started to serve, 

109 years ago, we had the nerve, 

In spirit and in truth, 

Delta Sigma Theta will rise, 

Raising every roof, 

This is no surprise, 

Crimson and Cream, draped around our breast, 

The legacy’s dream, we have no time for rest . . .
