Can You Please Stop Coming For Us - The Comfort of Attacking Black Women

Many people became a little frustrated with me yesterday at my piece on Will Smith violently attacking Chris Rock at the Oscars, because they didn’t read my piece on Will Smith violently attacking Chris Rock, assuming that I thought it was ok to slap another Black Man. I sort of laughed at how many over looked my writing and went on this witch hunt for Will Smith, assuming I had no love for Chris Rock. I will not divide these two great men nor speak ill of either. Yet this made me love Smith even more because what you not gonna do is define him after 400 years of oppression. And I will say this, I will not let a white person of any gender define this painfully, oppressive experience called race for me or my family. No, you can’t say that Will could of killed Chris Rock because that’s ludicrous. I would rather a Black man do what Will did than pick up a gun. That was two men beefing about something Black Men needed to put in check decades ago. That slap was for Trump, Austin, the Republicans, the KKK and so on and so forth. And as you know, “Everybody Hates Chris” (bad joke).  So, Chris caught it but he is about to be the greatest for it;  another article, another time. I thought Chris Rock needed to lawyer up and Will Smith was wrong as hell for doing it in that platform but, let Will Smith deal with the consequences of that. Black people, you ain’t nobody’s judge or jury. Have some grace for folks. Pray for the fall.  Every other race shuts up when one of their own falls but we got to go in. They both knew what that was and there are no heroes in that drama. 
But today is a new day and I am going to tell you about the Black Woman. I remember my 9 year old daughter coming home from school, crying that a white boy called her Michelle Obama. I said, “that’s great Amber”. She said no mommy, they called me that because I have long feet, long legs, and I’m Black.  They say I look like a gorilla”. My daughter cried that day so I made Michelle Obama such an important imagine in my household. Some revered Martin Luther King but Michelle was our icon. Amber is now college bound, about to rule her Queendom. I remember the trolling of Leslie Jones and Gabourey Sidibe and Black men having nothing to say. Nothing but crickets. I remember this not from comedians but politicians and other celebrities. My Black ass became a political token for the right and I wondered where is the Black man. I know the death of Breyonna Taylor was over looked because she was a beautiful Black Queen, and those white elites cringed at the thought of Judge Ketinji Brown Jackson taking a seat. Pauletta Washington is the women Jada Smith needs to emulate. A Queen Mother of class, no entanglements, don’t hate. 
You see, Will did something that no Black Man has ever did. On Masters own plantation he slapped the hell out of the lookout for talking jab about the little princess house nigga. And just like they historical did to us, it wasn’t pretty. Forget your Oscars.
