Someone told me I wasn't a “bad bitch“ today. They said it to make me feel like I don’t measure up to beautiful women. They said it to call me out on my looks. At first my stupid insecurity set in, like that 17 year old girl that I once was. I thought of Leah in the Bible, coined for her looks and not for her contributions of building nations. I thought of all the bad bitches that don’t take care of the home or their kids, the ones who spread their legs at the drop of a dime. I thought of Tarana Burke, Tamika Mallory even Kamala Harris who are the baddest but bitches they are not. I thought of the bad bitches who have gutter mouths, who demean others and act foul. I thought about the bad bitches that spread disease with ease and who have no love for God. Well who the hell wants to be a bad bitch? Literally meaning a female dog, a pejorative slang word for a person — usually a woman — who is belligerent, unreasonable, malicious, controlling, aggressive, or dominant. When applied to a man, bitch reverses its meaning and is a derogatory term for a subordinate, weak, or cowardly man. A bad bitch is nothing but shit in wrapping paper. Ladies stop conforming to this foolishness. I'm not a “bad bitch”, so thank you for the compliment.
