Dear Dearest, (I am the Father)

Dear Dearest, 

I have raised my daughter along with her mother since the day we brought her home from the hospital. My love for her is unconditional but it has been rocky for me and her mother. During our turbulent times she has thrown in my face that I am not the father to my beautiful baby girl who is now 7. I am planning on leaving the relationship because I don’t want my daughter witnessing our hostility but I do fear that she will take my child away. I haven’t taken a paternity test because I am my daughters father regardless of what a test may say. My greatest fear is if I am not the biological father I may loose parental rights. Should I face it or just leave it alone for the sake of my daughter? #alwaysdaddy

Are you listed on the birth certificate as the father? I would face it full speed ahead. It is so unhealthy keeping secrets and raising kids on lies. I would do this legally though. It sounds like your mate hits below the belt and things can get nasty. I commend you for giving your child unconditional love but the truth is necessary to give her all that she needs.
