Black Love

I don’t know when it became a trend not to take photos with your lover, significant other or even wife. I look for love all the time yet will never intrude upon it. And I have noticed that it has become acceptable to not share the one you love publicly. “We are private”, is a laughable statement to me, especially when women outnumber men. I want options is disrespectful. It’s complicated is a cop out. And when we explore the breakdown of our villages that were once so strong, we must identify with avoidance of commitment. A must for me is you can’t hide me. I am your side kick, your ride or die. Ring me around you until we make it official. If there is shame there ain’t no game.
And so I visited the vault of the ancestors and found so much power in relationship. From Rosa Parks to Dr. King, to Malcom X, let freedom ring. Even Fannie Lou had a boo. Angela and George did it behind bars while the Cleaver’s didn’t cower, “Ungawa, Black Power. That Shirley Chisholm didn’t make it fizzle and Mrs. Nash always took the flash. And even Langston showed Zora that he was all for her. So Sho’ Ya Love as Don Cornelius would say, display the portrait of admiration for the one that’s yours everyday.
