And Today’s Lesson Plan Should Include Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock’s Win . . .

FA0795D4-3B55-4C5B-B228-3E36D9DED448
I have been an educator for over 30 years; certified in some of the nation’s toughest schools, awarded honors for my dedication to children and propelled by a phenomenal son on the spectrum that needs more. Looking back at how education has not kept up with the glorious promises of our nation, I feel compelled to step in, a Blac...

“You Can’t Erase Us From Memorial Day”

“You Can’t Erase Us From Memorial Day”
Dearest Price
Agape Voice

American Historians have been some of the greatest narcissist of our time, omitting, embellishing, even fabricating the contributions of Blacks, African Americans, People of African decent. And all the while, this country questions why melinated children fail in our schools, leaving an achievement gap that no one knows how to fill. Well in the words of the late, great, Bob Marley, “Tell the children the truth”. Give us our rightful place in history and show our faces and the roles we played. This is the first lesson, in my new book, “An End to the Uproar”. Share with your children today, while it’s relevant. This is a very important day in American History.

“The first Memorial Day was on May 1, 1865 in Charleston, SC by those that were formerly enslaved by our government, in the institution called American Slavery. American Slavery was a chattel system of bondage that held melinated people against their will for over 200 years. Well these newly freed people were inspired to pay homage to those that fought in the Civil War under the Union Army. The Union Army was more on the side to abolish slavery than the Confederacy. And Black people discovered that, 257 Union Soldiers had been buried in a mass grave on a Confederate Prison Camp. Over a 2 week span, Black Americans dug up the bodies of the Union Soldiers giving them a proper grave. Showing their gratitude for their bravery during the Civil War, Black adults and children, Missionaries and advocates then had a parade with over 10,000 present honoring the fallen soldiers. They decorated the new burial in which the tradition continued as Decoration Day. General John A. Logan was given the create for creating Decoration Day when in fact, Black Americans had celebrated it some four years prior. You can no longer erase us from history because Black History and American History are synonymous. ~ Dearest Price, “Tell the children the truth.”

Your Failure Was Before COVID

As a certified educator with over 25 years experience, I struggled with the thought of homeschooling my child. He needed it, falling behind with each new year, fighting the system that had a prison bed ready for him but financially I could not stop working to commit to such a task. With every year that passed, I requested help and guidance. Th...

Don’t Play With Me - Grief Over Education

6053EADD-0DA8-43B9-90DB-47973744CCCD
Every month I write a letter or post a statement to my child’s charter school (Movement in Charlotte, NC).  You see I am only giving them 1 job to do. The rest Dad and I will give him the tools. The job is to teach my baby to read. He is an exceptional boy if I must say. He is open to learning ...

Oh how I love Movement

E2B8C373-BFDF-48F9-B188-5433156CCF59
Leaving the Movement School is bitter sweet. As a Specialist of Language and Instructional Assistant for Mrs. Belle, I fell in love with the 1st graders, kindergarteners and all the other children. Giving hugs and encouragement was my favorite part of the day.  Movement is truly the best elementary school in Charlotte. And it’s where I se...

Education Plantation

There is such bondage in ignorance. The education plantation is endless if you can’t master the basics. The basics are reading and math. Our schools have become the worst plantational system, leaving so many in the cracks. You feel trapped in “wanting to know” but you can’t escape to a place of “how to know”. I can remembe...

Oh, how I love Movement

Frustrated with the school my son was in, I was heart broken that he didn’t love it. Kindergarten wasn’t what I remembered as a child. The days of short sessions, sugar cookies and naps were over. Now kindergarten was a lab of rigor, just like the rest of the grades. High expectations were based on test...
