Dear Dearest, 

Toni Morrison died today. 

“Sorry”

Dear “Sorry”, 

What a horrible thing for you to say.  With two mass shooting, too many bodies to lay. She’s not dead cause words never die. I’m truly messed up, but have no tears to cry. I read all her books, even the ones I didn’t get. I tried to be like her but that’s a failed bet. Her pen had the power and her use of words were divine. She had an audience that listened, nothing like mine. 

No she’s not dead and will live through her grave, as I pick up my pen and her words I will save. Through fighting oppression, and calling out wrong, to getting him off me, to singer her song. Don’t ever write that someone is dead, just pick up her books because the words are unread.
