Black Folks Are Winning

Black Folks are winning. I know it can be a hard phrase to say but don’t turn your back on it. We can not curse our Black children with conditions that we have allowed. We must speak life into them. I’m not telling them they are playing for a losing team just because the victories seem far and few. The devil is a lie and that devil may be our very own mouths. When I can’t root for my squad, “Houston we have a problem”. When parents can’t confirm that they’re winning; they are actually mentally shackling their children with the same systematic racism perpetuated on them. What kind of team goes on the field losing? I’m not cynical. I don’t mock the plight of African Diasporic people. I don’t ignore our journey. Yet, my voice has to match my vision. So, “Black Folks Are Winning”. Tell your Black children. “Black Folks Are Winning”, tell your local congressional district. “Black Folks Are Winning”, tell these schools and churches. “Black Are Folks Winning” . . . you must open your mouth and speak this language, like Black Power, like Black Lives Matter, like Black Line; Black Folks Are Winning.
