50 Year Old, Black Woman in Charlotte Goes Viral

It was hard enough setting up a GoFund yesterday because I already embarrass my children tremendously with my writing and those are the only human opinions that truly matter to me. It was so hard telling FB that I have been taken advantaged by a Republican candidate, when they know I don't do Republican candidates. It is so difficult being a minister and admitting I am also a struggling Black Woman. I don't say Single Black Woman because I do nothing alone with mama, Sistahs and friends praying and working behind the scenes on my behalf. Yet this is why I stay off of Instagram and Twitter,
Not because I'm too old to understand it, like my kids like to say but to run into my daughter in this medium is not a good thing. These young people got a code, an image to uphold and 1 wrong move I've destroyed their lives forever, so they both say.
I was speaking at a Rally in Charlotte when someone took a picture of me and it was on Instagram. Of course my snoopy child saw it hours before I did. Shortly after she was texting me from her bedroom, "really ma?" Like I purposely took my own picture and put it on Instagram. This is the picture I actually used for the GoFund and on this piece. This is the picture for my Rally Cry, stop the discriminating Black Women!!!

North Carolina is a "No Fault Termination State" that discriminates against Black Woman at astronomical numbers. In the last year I have been let go from employment 4 times, one including a school without justification or acts of violation perpetrated by me. My example to my children has been I can't hold down a job and at 50 it truly feels that way but in the case with an election campaign I was freelancing and watching this ship sink from conception.

I truly learned of "White Girl" magic this month by the way Stephanie De Sarachga-Bilbao, ran her campaign, hiring over 40 Black people that would put their political views aside for $20 - $25 an hour. The Bible calls this, "casting your pearls before swine" and from day one the campaign had us waiting for hours at the House of Prayer parking lot to start work. As I was assigned to meet and greet, Stephanie De Sarachga-Bilbao and Garcia Nelson strolled through the parking lot, fashionably 4 hours late giving us pizza for our wows. This assured me that I was going to be paid on time or maybe not. Garcia told folks publicly and privately that their first payment would come through our Cash App on Wednesday July 13 which was the first red flag but I was pleased that Stephanie was hiring us. I introduced myself and told her who I was and she graciously thanked me for doing the administration.

Three days later, all hell had broke loose on this campaign. Poll workers were confused where they were stationed, pay roll and documentation was unorganized and communication was down the toilet. I had a personal system, making flyers, creating Garcia a website to track individuals and developing a payroll sheet. I put every poll worker in my phone if they had issues. I was up at 6 am and not to bed until 2 or 3 most days.

Then it happened, Garcia asked me to write up an invoice for Stephanie for the workers and came back saying the numbers had to be crunched. First of all Stephanie De Sarachga-Bilbao, "why do you have people working and don't have money to pay them?" Second, Garcia, "why are you lying saying you didn't tell us we wasn't going to get paid Wednesday?" I went in on them, calling out every ounce of this debacle.

Well, this was termination # 5 in Charlotte. I received a cease and desist letter from Garcia and today the 25th, I've been paid nothing. By now everyone else has been paid because there are crickets from her camp. Stephanie and Garcia got a daily warning that if I didn't get my money I was going public.

So. There truly is White Girl Magic when you can do this to Black Folks and I can't even hold down 1 job. I will fight for Job Discrimination, Poor People, Displaced People. I will not be voting for Vi Llyes either because you see, I reached out to her camp who told me it was a private issue. My daughter is going to Temple University this fall whether I get paid or not but now her Momma has something to really fight about once she is gone. Donate something to my GoFund and make me viral.
