A Real “E” Gone . . .

4461E15C-EDA3-4AC6-8F2A-59654B10FF9E

He was the “Tommy” of Strong Island, that one that never gave up. Many didn’t know Dearest Price was very close friends with Fashion Icon Daniel Lloyd and my stomach sank as I scrolled through FB to find out about his untimely passing. Our last conversation was before Christmas, straight boardroom politic’in. He was a boss at it and always got his message across with street charisma. “Naw Ma, I ain’t giving no refunds but for you I’ll cut a deal.” He gave me a seat at his boardroom table with such likes as Fred Link Ayler and Sara Dixon. He saw I was a beast before anybody else could see and he told me, never having a problem picking up the phone. “Ma we bout to do big things. Let’s get my line to Charlotte.” Straight outta the 11798, he was the B-Boy I grew up with, the essence of home, the epitome of real, the fashion of the Danch’, the covering for the kids, the Black Man we all were waiting for but missed while he was here. Daniel Lloyd. I’m straight devastated. They didn’t know how two real “E’s” rocked solider. Salute. Entreprenuers 4 Life!!!
