“Death of a Salesman”Reciprocity 103

Entrepreneurship is one hell of a game. You take your looses but one reject, one broken promise, one disregard can’t close down shop or you ain’t no entrepreneur. One disgruntled client don’t cause you not to open tomorrow. The only way to stop a real “E”’s grind is death. Death stops that operation in its tracks and none of us are immune to its fate.
I’m lining up Agape Voice’s paperwork now so immediately upon my death Amber Bowman and Aaron Justus Bowman can take over. They don’t want it. Both claim they don’t like to write, so they can sell it but don’t allow it to become dust. I face the reality that my expiration date will be a surprise party that I ain’t invited to so in saying that, on that day I relinquish all control. And I will prepare before time.
When my business partner Rhonda Baker of the book “Curvy”, died I thought her books would sell off the shelves. I thought new executors would swoop in and take over this phenomenal woman’s legacy. But that was farthest from the truth. “Curvy” has been Agape Voice’s lowest selling book to date with me and her husband Eddie, just scratching our heads. Two days ago Hip Hop, Fashion Icon Daniel Lloyd got his wings. His music, his apparel should be sold out by tomorrow, especially now that his family has to bury a giant. My dear friend didn’t expect it to be the day before yesterday. And I pray his legacy isn’t replaced by just a memory. I can barely cry over death because there is no cure. But I can advise all entrepreneurs to filter through the pool of waste to find the “ride or dies” while you are living. Teach people how to treat you. Expect a withdrawal on your deposits as others expect the same. Reciprocity is a “you win, I win” game, so understand your alliances are your bank. Stack up reciprocity. Make it clear, say it strong in everything you do. Cause if you die today, who got you boo? You got to require reciprocity in all purchases made.
A real entrepreneur has a list of where all there money goes. Revisit that list and decide what’s good fruit. Look at it as a liability or an asset. Those that reject the concept of pouring into me as I pour into you, I’m stepping back from. The first steps of building legacy is having relationships that require reciprocity.
