Dear Dearest,
Dear Dearest,
I am 37 years old and like many others, I am consumed with social media, especially FB. According to a phone app, my usual time on exceeds 8 hours a day. That’s more than I work. Posts and comments literary make me sick. I feel like folks are always insinuating something about me. I take and post pictures of myself 2 and 3 times per day and I am never satisfied. And when someone removes or block me I go into a frenzy. I’ve tried to stop using it but I’m so addicted it only last for a day or two. My live in partner is tired of hearing about my FB drama. Do I need help? I really think this is impacting my mental health.

Dear Social Media Anxiety,
Your addiction is real. There have been studies on the long term affects of social media and millions are stuck with your same problem. Some of the best advice I found came from the website, itstimetologoff.com
Here are some tips from Isabella Ward, tech addiction specialist.
“1.Turn off notifications.
2. Don’t have your phone by you when your sleep.
3. Place less weight on your personal image on social media.
4. Digital Detox.”
Anxiety of any type should be handled through a doctor. Don’t be embarrassed. Like sugar I think many of us put too much in our coffee. Build in-person relationships to take some of the burden off of you and leave your phone in the car when visiting folks. Best wishes. Dearest.
