The Community Cares Tour - This will be happening tonight!!!

Bob Marley said it best when he sung, “how long shall they kill our prophets while we stand aside and look”? I say, how many have to die to gun violence before we truly do something about this epidemic that is taking over our local communities? The latest victim, Mya Miller, was murdered by this random wave of violence. As we prayed for this sister in our local churches, I wondered if the community has had enough. Are we truly tired of seeing the photos of our innocent children plastered on the news? Are we tired of another mother or fatherless child?  Are we tired of living in a state of fear of who maybe next?

Mya, a mother, so young to be gone from her children because America can’t enact proper gun laws, because America can’t deal with the surge of mental illness, because America seems to be paying for its years of oppression that has broken people walking around here like zombies. And the spiritual community, the non-profits, the business owners, scurry around, wondering what to do.

Mya sat in her car, not realizing that her fate would once again propel us to sound off this constant war cry. And the Community that Cares Tour will not walk away from this battle. Every Salisbury citizen and those within close proximity need to attend this event. We all know silence is as good as acceptance, so we must fight against gun violence. Tonight. Take a stance to make a change. Redemption.
