Servant of the Community - Rodney McGill

IMG_9428

That day leaving “Safe Alliance” seemed to be surreal, as I found myself passing several community leaders in Charlotte, trying to keep my dirty little secret under wraps. But Rodney McGill didn’t cut me from the corner of his eye or act like he didn’t see me but walked up to me with a hug and greeting. I was feeling mighty low that day and it was the first time I had gotten out in a minute. He knew where we were and why I was there but spoke to me with dignity and respect. He asked if I was ok and if there was anything he could do but in embarrassment I just put it on a community cause and scurried on out of the offices.
I know Rodney not as the leader most of you do but as a friend who helped my son with socialization. I know Rodney as a man that puts his resources together to make a difference, who believes in collaboration and who has nothing but love for his people. Rodney is more powerful than our own mayor, showing up for what he knows has to be done. He has made Charlotte better in so many ways for our children, business owners and disenfranchised women like me. He is a servant of the Queen City but more importantly he is my friend. KEFA, an amazing Academy for Children blows me away every time I see a flyer.

1. The Save Our Children Movement Inc is KEFA Academy.
2. CUC100LLC is adult services.
3. Civic Communications Inc is politics.

Are some of the other projects he spearheads. You have made incredible accomplishments here in Charlotte and I am so proud to know you. Sorry this piece took so long my friend.
