Lethonia Peaches Barnes is taking this election season by storm as she is all in to take a seat on Florence’s City Council. A native of the area, she has politics in her DNA. When asked was this a difficult time to run, she replied, “this is an easy time to run because there is so much to do”. She believes the unethical administration is inspiration to fresh blood running. 
Ms. Barnes upbringing influenced her to serve, as she has a brother who is on County Council and two other siblings in education. “We can’t do it with failing schools”, she says.
She and her siblings are all local business owners supporting the economy in what she believes to be a premier city. Her parents made life about athletics and volunteerism When they were young, describing her dad as a humble man who helped everyone. 

Calling Wilson Heights “our hood“ and neighborhood redevelopment being at the center of her campaign Ms. Barnes stands out because it’s based on building relationships. She is relatable and not a part of politics as usual. She believes all politicians need to be accessible and “all hands need to be on deck”. Ms. Barnes is pushing for better jobs, bridging the gap of the economy, neighborhoods redevelopment and education. So vote for Lethonia Peaches Barnes, City Council.
