Mug Shot Blunder

I did something in the name of advocacy that looking back may have been a great mistake. I am not above correction. I am not a fan of the police. Although they are there to serve us, I believe many exploit these duties, especially at the expense of Black men. I saw a mug shot of someone I knew being run all over FB by the Darlington Police Department and was appalled. It felt like some slave bs. I in turn wrote the police department, blacked out the individuals face/posted on my outrage and demanded change from the police department. Although I blacked out the person's face, I didn't get their permission to make them a poster child of what I believed to be very degrading practices by the Darlington Police Department. I stand in correction for my short comings as it was brought to my attention yesterday. I wasn't chasing a story but that may be how it was perceived. My deepest apologies to the individual who was used. I am still very much against using mug shots on social media like we need regular civilians to take the place of law enforcement yet I do not want to be part of the problem. I will continue to speak against this but never without permission of parties involved. God Bless You. I'm growing and learning. The struggle continues for criminal justice. - Dearest Price, Chain-Breakers Project, Black Darlington
