“Mr. Officer”

“Mr. Officer”

As this story continues to unfold, I have to keep in mind that the children who were being held hostage in the home of Frederick Hopkins were foster children being sexually assaulted.

Terrence Carraway had recently celebrated 30 years of service and was serving a warrant at the home of Hopkins when Hopkins opened fire on all of the police officers.

Officer Carraway was a Livingstone College alumni which shines a different light on this blog. Carraway was also an Airforce veteran retired as a technical sergeant with the 315th Airlift Wing. Just looking into his life through the eyes of those closest to him, I had the pleasure of speaking with an individual who stated, “Officer Carraway always had words of encouragement for me. My cousin and I used to visit him at his home in Darlington, SC.”

During Livingstone College’s Homecoming game this past Saturday, the commentator held a moment of silence for Officer Carraway right before kick off.

On behalf of Black Salisbury, we ask that the ancestors embrace and cover the hearts of the family during this time.

Peace Love & Light,
