So Proud To Be Her
Many did not understand why I was frozen to the TV yesterday watching her move, watching her sing, watching her being saluted and taking command. I sat in my pearls in tears, watching her speak, watching her enter, watching her take over; a takeover of a spot that only a time as this could fulfill. She was golden, indigo, Mother of Pearl, she was amber, crimson, sunlight . . . yes she was sunlight. And I saw a door swing open for my daughter. I saw natural steps taken for a granddaughter who hadn’t even been born. I saw possibility instantly translated into reality. And I was worthy, as my picture was placed right along side hers. I looked up and I saw me. For one of the first times, I saw me and I was so proud to be her.
