Shanquella Robinson Update

Almost a month after the tragic death of Shanquella Robinson, I want to put some perspective on what is going on and how we as a community can hold the memory of this young, rising entrepreneur of Charlotte, NC.

Shanquella, commonly called “Boss”, was a children’s hair braider, an online boutique owner and sold hair bundles. She was fearless. A graduate of Winston-Salem, at only 25 she was doing her thing. Without going into the gruesome facts of her murder, she was apparently an avid traveler, enjoying a luxury stay in Cabo, Mexico which she covered the accommodation costs.

Now that an arrest warrant have been issued for at least 1 of the 6 perpetrators, we can now get an understanding of crimes committed on foreign soil. These dummies leaked their own videos, told on themselves and now will be cast as demons for the rest of their lives. We now have added extradited to our vocabulary which means they are going back to Mexico.

In the age of technology and social media life, there aren’t too many crimes like this that you are going to walk away from young people. And the possibility of life in a Mexican jail is looking pretty certain for these 6 jokers. So even watching the murder of someone will take your life.

Let’s keep Shanquella’s family and real friends in our prayers. Places of worship, lift them up. Stay in-tune with real news reports and stop fabricating stories, although one of those girls truly looked like a man. Let’s talk about jealousy and hate to young people instead of running from it and let’s continue to say Quella’s name, in love.
