Getting Your Finances In Order Photo by rawpixel.com from nappy.co

This month's business feature for Black Line News - Salisbury is RTM Associates LLC (RTM). The owner shares with The Info Hub (TIH) about her services. Read below to learn more about this amazing local black firm.

TIH: Thanks for granting Black Line News – Salisbury this interview! Please introduce yourself and your business.

RTM: My Name is Tatia Ruff Seward, I live in the Eastern end of Rowan County, North Carolina. I graduated from East Rowan High School and received my bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC. I am a mother and active in the Rowan County Community. My career began in the law enforcement field for over 10 years, then I began working at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. I am currently working in municipal government in the finance department. I have begun a small business called RTM Associates LLC. RTM Associates assists with administrative and financial advising. I have noticed the vast number of women and elderly whom need assistance with finances and other services. Our community is thriving with seniors and retirees whom are living longer and many of their children and family members don't live near them. They are very strong willed and sometimes don't know how or want to ask for help. But they need our help. I want to help our community get their affairs in order. Many retirees, seniors and young adults don't have wills, emergency funds, budgets and funeral arrangement completed. Many don't understand about estates and long term care options. If you do not take the time to make these choices while you are mentally and physically capable, the state of North Carolina will make these decisions for you. This can be devastating to a family. RTM Associates will sit with you, assess what your needs are through a financial need analysis (FNA) and work with you to accomplish goals identified. I have partnered with WFG (World Financial Group) who sells insurance, annuities, 401Ks and IRA accounts. The changes coming to social security benefits and retirement plans need to be discussed. Our community deserves to know what happens when you leave, transfer and retire from a job. Look at what they will be responsible for in taxes, how much will it take for them to live on a fixed income. When unexpected changes come what is available to them. Our community has worked, invested and earned the right to be prepared and equipped for these changes. Our youth and young adults need some financial advice on how to prepare for the transitioning years.

TIH: Share about your connection or what brought you to the Salisbury/Rowan County area.

RTM: I am a Rowan County native and my family is here. I have connections through my employment and community projects I've participated in. Through my church and community boards I have meet some terrific people.

TIH: I know you addressed this in your introduction, but sum up in a nutshell for our readers the services your firm provides.

RTM: My firm assists with financial advising, literacy and administrative services. I can help with wills, insurance policies, annuities, 401k and retirement advice.

TIH: Black lines is an advocate of uniting and empowering the black community. What do you believe is the best way to accomplish this with our local community?

RTM: The best way to unite our community is through education and truth. We can give you the knowledge and show you how to apply it. But you must come with an open mind and heart to receive.

TIH: Is there anything else you would like our readers to know about you or your firm?

RTM: I want to develop a relationship with my clients, so they can feel safe to talk and discuss when the unexpected happens. Be truthful about options and choices.

TIH: How can our readers connect with your firm?

RTM: I can be reached by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and I will respond so we can set up a meeting and begin our journey forward.
