Black Woman - Unbossed & Undefined

I’ve been wanting to write this piece for a long time; especially for my young sisters starting out. This piece is for the ones that are discriminated for wearing their naturals, braids or locks to work, the ones that rock that blond like a rockstar but are labeled for their crown, the ones that adorn their beauty with lashes like once done during our times of royalty. This is for you.
I just recently jumped into the discussion of bonnets and slippers and how Auntie Mo’nique was dropping her wisdom but Black Women your style is eclectic, always has been. You are the fashionista of the world. You create and recreate, making it a jewel of your own. You are innovators giving new light, new meaning to melanin. So, I say don’t give up on the blond wigs and lashes. Don’t let go of the fluffy slippers and bonnets. Be bold in your naturals as the everything to the earth. Just be smart young entrepreneurs, there is a time and place for everything. Be classy, college students, your body is your weapon not a tool. Be innovative business woman, definer; Unbossed, undefined. Black Woman.
